Pancreatic Disorders
Acute Pancreatitis:
- Starts with severe pain in the abdomen, can cause vomiting giddiness fainting fever.
- Common causes are Alcohol consumption, Gall stones, Tropical, Hereditary, High lipid levels, Trauma etc.
- Confirmed by Ultrasound, CT scan and Blood tests.
- Managed conservatively (Saline and Injections).
- Can Cause complications like
- Pseudocyst: Causes pain, swelling in the abdomen and early satiety (Pt cannot eat food).Treated with Surgery (Open / Laparoscopic)
- Bleeding
- Infections
- Can harm Lungs, Kidneys and Liver.
Chronic Pancreatitis:
- Causes pain in the abdoman (Belly) over a long period.
- Can cause Diabetes, Loose motion, Pseudo cysts (Swelling in the abdomen).
- If pain is severe it is treated with surgery otherwise treated with medications.
- Causes Joundice, Swelling and pain in the abdomen.
- Treated with surgery and Chemotherapy.
- Causes Swelling and pain in the abdomen.
- Treated with surgery.

- Treated get better and go away on their own only treated by surgery by larger pain
